He’s a chinese man around my age really nice. I drove him from San Juan to Ponce. He called just to tell me he was doing okay and that he has an apartment, he plans on staying there for 2 months, and now has a bike so can ride around. The guy is awesome.

Boy discovers microbe that eats plastic | MNN -... →
So earlier I posted something about something that would eventually eat plastic. Well my Jillian (yes she’s mine you can’t have her) told me that indeed that bacteria was around. So here you go. Also it looks like their is a fungus that does the trick too. NOW I need to start creating super ones of these bacteria for my global conquest.

They believe that this bacteria evolved over hundreds to thousands of years due to crude oil slipping up into the water. So this gets my mind churning. Organisms evolve and adapt to external influences, danger, disease, climate, food (abundance or lack their of), etc. Oh you...

I read this story back in December and lost the link in my crazy e-mail box. I found it today and would like to share it. It is long but I greatly recommend reading it from beginning to end. It’s heart wrenching, uplifting, and generally a great tale that this family has gone through.
