He’s a chinese man around my age really nice. I drove him from San Juan to Ponce. He called just to tell me he was doing okay and that he has an apartment, he plans on staying there for 2 months, and now has a bike so can ride around. The guy is awesome.

Standing in my kitchen staring out the windows and thinking. In the gulf of Mexico there are bacteria that eat crude oil. They believe that this bacteria evolved over hundreds to thousands of years due to crude oil slipping up into the water. So this gets my mind churning.

I read this story back in December and lost the link in my crazy e-mail box. I found it today and would like to share it. It is long but I greatly recommend reading it from beginning to end. It’s heart wrenching, uplifting, and generally a great tale that this family has gone through.
